THE SWIGSHIFT AND FRIENDS
2001
ALFRED DEN OUDEN is the founder of the Dranouter Folkfestival and therefore he is considered to be the godfather of Flemish folk music. He wandered through Ireland for months and played together with a lot of important Celtic musicians.
Anyone who has ever heard the beautiful voice of LUC CUPPENS, will not easly forget it.
He has given up profession as a teacher a teacher to devote himself to music full-time
.
Tailltiù, alias ANN DESSEYN, who studies Celtic languages at a Scottish university, came overseas to record some songs with us. Who else then Ann could ever render the Gaelic songs in such a beautiful way.
Another brilliant singer is CARINE VIAENE, who takes class in classical music. She sang with us for the first time at a concert for the benefit of Koester. Irish ballads combines with classical singing; for both parties a leap into the dark, but in the end we were certainly at one about this: Classical and folk music fit together very well.
