1985. After several musical rambles that have ever led to hard-rock, new-wave, blues-rock, ... Filip Vanrobaeys thought time had come to get back to the folk, the only music that has ever appealed to him completely. As luck would have it, he renewed his friendship with Ivan Volcke. Although Ivan had never stopped playing the accoustic guitar, the offer Filip made to him was a real lap in the the dark.
Making Irish and Celtic music ... as Flemish as well ... ?
Soon enough, it seemed that never before they spoke the same language as in this kind of music.
Simple arrangements, an adapted instrumentarium and a lot of enthousiasm were the ingredients for their debut as duo.
1987. Peter Derudder joined the duo. The rather young musician was not only exeptional musical talented, he also made an  overwhelming impression on the others of his feeling for the typical Irish and Celtic music. Besides his beautiful arrangements, he made his own Irish composition heard only after a few weeks of repetition. This was an incitement to select other musical items more liable to arrangements aimed at a trio.
1991. When a sound engineer friend, introduced the accordionist Luc Veys who used to play Flemish tunes and Parisian accordions, there was some scepticism about it.  A few weeks later, it was obvious that the doubts were without good reason. Indeed, with his coming the group experienced an unsuspectable revival. Adding the uilleann pipes played by Peter, gave an even more richer tone colour and created other new possibilities.
