







1998. The first album was a real succes and the fans asked for more; "Witness of a Celtic Past"was the result. On the cover of this second CD you can read :"We want to take you with us on our quest to the Celtic roots deep in ourselves. And who knows, maybe those big grey rocks start talking, as silent witnesses of a long gone past."
2001. After given concerts for more than 15 years in the Flemish and French-speaking part of Belgium, France, the Netherlands, … the group met a lot of soulmates, musicians, dancers, actors, Irishmen and Irishlovers probably all descendants of Ambiorix. Sometimes, they promised to work out something together ... Therefore The Swigshift decided to organize a concert with the friends and a the same time to bring out a double CD; "The Swigshift and Friends". When they asked their friends' cooperation, they enthusiastically agreed.
2002. Luc Veys leaved the group for professional reasons and replaced by Tom Togher.
2004. Tom Togher leaved the group and a few months later Peter Steen joined the group. Peter was not an outsider; he's the fiddle and guitar player of Cajole, a folk related group from Wervik in which also Peter Derudder plays. He gives with the accoustic bass and fiddle richer tone colour.
2005. The group exist already 20 years and as real surprise anniversary gift Luc Veys rejoined the group; he will give the group the sound from of yore.
